We may be a bit biased, but this is the greatest job in the world. However, it does involve a time commitment. Does it allow you time to be responsive to your clients, research, create and send quotes, build itineraries and manage their reservation details? These are important aspects of the job.

Travel Agent FAQs

We are so glad you are interested in learning more about becoming a travel agent with Kingdom Destinations. Below you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you decide if Kingdom Destinations is the right fit for you.

When you work with your clients to book their travel through our large list of suppliers, the agency will receive a commission from that sale. Then twice a month, the agency pays each agent their portion of that sale, based on their current commission level. Typically, commissions do not get paid to the agency until after the client has traveled.

Yes! That is the great part of being a travel agent with Kingdom Destinations, you can create your own work schedule. A few times a month, we will have zoom meetings/training at set times so you may need to adjust your schedule around those to attend.

Although we do not require specific educational requirements, we do expect that all of our agents have the following values and characteristics:

  • Integrity
  • A desire to learn new skills
  • Stay educated on travel and destinations
  • Quick responsiveness to clients and colleagues
  • Have previous customer service experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • And a desire to engage with their clients and fellow agents

Personal travel experience helps build your knowledge base and enhances the service you provide to clients. Ideally, our agents travel regularly to continue learning, strengthen their destination expertise, and market their services effectively. Insights gained from your own travel experiences can be shared with both your clients and fellow Kingdom Destinations agents.

Yes. Kingdom Destinations expects each agent to invest their own time and resources into finding their own clients and building their client list. This can be done through social media marketing, personal contacts, in-person events or any other way you make contact with people or groups. Kingdom Destinations does occasionally receive inquiries through our website and social media platforms that are then sent out to the agents as well.

Our Recruitment Team carefully reviews each application to determine whether our agency is the right fit for you. If your qualifications and characteristics align with what we look for in a Kingdom Destinations Travel Agent, we will send you a link to answer a few additional questions to help us better understand your travel experience, background, and values.

After you submit the additional questionnaire along with your most recent resume, and if you are approved to move forward, we will contact you to schedule a Zoom interview with the Recruitment Team. Following the interview, the team will review all of your information and submit a recommendation to the Kingdom Destinations owner, Lindsey Cooper, for final approval.

If approved, Lindsey will reach out to schedule a final interview and discuss the next steps.

At Kingdom Destinations, you will begin with comprehensive virtual training, followed by ongoing support from a dedicated mentor during your first six months. Your mentor will help you launch your business, develop effective workflows, stay organized, and provide answers to your questions as you get started.

After you complete your initial training, you are welcome to continue training with other suppliers at your own pace. Our agency also offers monthly training of all kinds (marketing, social media tools, supplier training, etc.). With all of these opportunities, you will be able to grow your business at your own pace. As your business grows, you may be offered FAM trips (familiarization trips), earn higher commissions, or join one of our KD Teams that assist the Kingdom Destinations Leadership in the company's growth.

You will quickly learn that Kingdom Destinations is a family. We refer to ourselves as the KD Ohana and truly believe that. We offer support and care for each other no matter where you are on your journey. We want everyone to succeed and truly believe in community over competition.
