Review of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Looking for a moderate level Walt Disney World resort with the charm of The Big Easy?  Then, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is an excellent choice.  We’ll provide you with all the details about this charming resort.

Overview of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is one of our favorite moderate resorts at Walt Disney World. Located in the Disney Springs area, this resort is themed after the oldest neighborhood in Louisiana,  the French Quarter.

This beautiful resort features cobblestone walkways lit by gorgeous lamp posts and is a perfect setting for taking a romantic stroll or a horse drawn carriage ride next to the Sassagoula River.

Another appealing feature of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is its smaller size when compared to other moderate resorts. There is only one bus stop and therefore, no need for an internal resort bus. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter does share bus transportation with its sister property, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, but it is nice to know there is only one stop once you are inside your resort.  Plus, all of the rooms are within walking distance to the bus stop, lobby, and pool.

Mardi Gras Themed Pool

Speaking of the pool, the pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is Mardi Gras themed with a giant serpent water slide. Alongside the main pool area are gators “playing” their instruments, a hot tub, and the Mardi Grogs Pool Bar.

Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter offers four room types, each with slightly different pricing:  standard view, garden view, river view, pool view and king bed.
