Resort Overview
The unique and nostalgic theming of Disney’s Pop Century Resort makes it one of our favorite Walt Disney World value resorts. Located in the Wide World of Sports area of Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort has been giving families a fun and affordable place to call home since 2003. The resort highlights iconic symbols of pop culture from the 1950’s all the way through the 1990’s. Each area of the resort is dedicated to a different decade with unique pieces of pop culture on display. A recent remodel project in 2018 has given the rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort a new appeal.
Lobby Area
Classic Hall can be found in the center of the resort offering families a wide range of fun activities as well as access to many of the resort’s amenities. Classic Hall is home to a large arcade, Everything Pop food court, merchandise shop, concierge desk, bar, ATM, airline check-in, and park merchandise pick-up and delivery. You won’t want to miss the huge array of incredible memorabilia located throughout Classic Hall!
Dining
There are quite a few options for dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort which can be found at Everything Pop food court. This food court offers breakfast favorites, such as the famous Mickey waffles from 6:00AM to 11:00AM, lunch from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, and dinner from 5:00PM to 12:00AM. Lunch and dinner offer 7 different stations with a wide variety of options including burgers, chicken, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and pasta! It is also common to find special offerings if you need a little more variety. There is even a station dedicated to dessert options such as ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and the guests’ favorite, tie dye cheesecake! Disney’s Pop Century Resort also participates in the pizza delivery service, which is a welcomed dining option after a long day in the parks. Pizza delivery to your resort room is simply a phone call away and available from 4:00PM to midnight every day.
Transportation
Guests staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort have access to Disney transportation services which provides access to all four theme parks, 2 water parks and Disney Springs. This complimentary bus transportation can be found just outside Classic Hall with busses arriving approximately every 20 minutes. Disney’s Pop Century Resort also shares a Disney Skyliner Station with its sister property, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This gondola system features convenient access to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot and is easily accessible using strollers and ECVs (electric convenience vehicles).
Like all Disney resorts, Disney’s Pop Century Resort offers Disney’s Magical Express, complimentary roundtrip transportation for guests arriving and departing from the Orlando International Airport.
Pools
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is the home to 3 separate pools that will be sure to keep your family cool and entertained. The first is the Hippy Dippy Pool located near the 1960’s buildings and just outside of Classic Hall. Next, the Bowling Pool near the 1950’s buildings which contains 144,352 gallons of water and shaped like a giant bowling pin. Finally, the Computer Pool is located near the 1990’s buildings and showcases a giant floppy disk and keyboard. All pools have towels available for guests as well as lifeguards on duty.
Recreation and other amenities
Guests at Disney’s Pop Century Resort also have access to many recreation options. Fast Forward Arcade offers guests a variety of games ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 per play. Also, guests can enjoy complimentary Disney movies under the stars most nights. You can find the schedule for movies under the stars near the Classic Hall doors leading to the pool area.
Laundry facilities are located onsite and are available 24 hours a day. You can find these facilities near all the pools. Cost for use of the machines is $2.00 per load and many are equipped to take debit/credit cards. You can even use an app which will allow you to check machine availability and load progress right from your phone.
Guest rooms
Guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort accommodate up to 4 guests and feature two queen size beds. One is a typical queen size bed and the other is a surprisingly comfortable pull-down queen size table bed.
Preferred rooms are located in the buildings closest to Classic Hall which makes it convenient to the main building to grab a quick bite to eat. Standard rooms are located further away from Classic Hall so the walk to the main lobby, dining and bus stop will be longer. In each room, guests will enjoy the following amenities:
